Post-acquisition, WVP supports its partner practices with the non-clinical side of the business by providing industry proven non-clinical business support services.

We are currently seeking a hands-on Assistant Controller to join our high-growth, fast-paced veterinary company. The chosen candidate will be a team player and will help lead all elements of the accounting function, to include General Ledger accounting.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning, directing and coordinating accounting functions
• Providing hands-on support to ensure all back-office functions work smoothly
• Managing month-end closing activities and preparation of consolidated monthly financial statements in a timely and accurate manner
• Review of Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Strong leadership skills (direct reports of 5-6 individuals)
• Maintaining and further developing internal controls
• Providing opportunities and overseeing the professional and personal development of direct reports, with emphasis on providing opportunities for professional advancement
• Coordinating with external firms for annual audit as well as tax filings
• Providing oversight of post-acquisition transitions to the WVP platform
• Coordinating with Operations and Business Development teams to provide support for various company functions

To thrive in this position candidates need to have:

• 8+ years finance/accounting experience, with business acumen & understanding of US GAAP
• Experience in a high growth, multi-site environment
• Experience in a similar role with a private equity backed company
• Experience with Sage Intacct or similar General Ledger software preferred.
• Detail and deadline oriented
• Expertise with spreadsheets and financial reporting systems.
• High level of customer service orientation.
• Can work well both independently and on a team.
• Local to the greater Denver area.

Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. The salary range for this opportunity is $155,000- $165,000 annually. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The Company offers competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision benefits, vacation, sick leave, 401(k), and more depending on location.
