Senior Accountant - Joint Ventures

WVP is backed by Tyree & D'Angelo Partners (TDP), a Chicago-based private equity investment firm that makes control ownership investments in, and partners with, lower middle market businesses with the goal of creating meaningful value for all involved.

We are currently seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant, specializing in Joint Venture (JV) accounting and special projects, to join our high-growth, fast-paced veterinary company. The chosen candidate will be a team player with strong problem-solving skills and will assist with all elements of the accounting function. This role will be hybrid so candidates must be local to the Denver market.

To Thrive in this position candidates should be able to:

  • Manage the books for our Joint Ventures
  • Review month-end close JV journal entries and the related reconciliation of cash, prepaid, fixed assets, and other balance sheet JV accounts
  • Prepare quarterly JV cash distributions
  • Support month end reporting package by performing analytics at the JV locations and researching any unusual variances and preparing journal entries as needed
  • Support the back-office integration of JV locations and play an integral part in the WVP reconciliation process.
  • Actively participate in the annual audit and tax audit of JVs
  • Assist with other broader projects to include:
    • Building out and maintaining complex monthly reconciliations, particularly Company-wide accounts receivable.
    • Review and assist in researching and streamlining accounts receivable collections.
    • Assist with Accounts Payable, Operations and technology projects, as needed.
    • Play a pivotal role in streamlining processes and system implementations for the Accounting Department and assist the Assistant Controller, Controller and CFO where needed.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
  • Local to the greater Denver area
  • 4+ years of general ledger accounting experience including prior reconciliation and month-end close knowledge or the appropriate combination of education and experience
  • Big 4 or other public accounting experience preferred
  • Proficient in Excel including consistent use of lookups and pivot tables
  • Familiarity with US GAAP
  • High level of customer service orientation while maintaining a positive and professional attitude
  • Can work well both independently and on a team
  • Proven analytical mind and not afraid to dive deep into the details and solve problems
  • Highly detail and deadline oriented, ability to multitask
  • Prior experience with Sage Intacct and acquisitions/integrations preferred but not required

Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The Company offers competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision benefits, vacation, sick leave, 401(k), and more depending on location.
