Urgent Care Veterinarian - Stateline Animal Clinic

Department: Veterinarian
Location: Southaven, MS

Stateline Animal Clinic has an exciting opportunity for an Associate DVM to join our northwest Mississippi team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a DVM who loves small animal medicine, has wonderful communication skills, and would love to learn our thoughtful approach to medicine, while also teaching our 3 doctors the new, modern techniques.

Our strengths:

  • Having a top-notch team comprised of 3 doctors and a talented, tenured support staff.
  • Providing quality care to small animals and pocket pets in our community. We also work closely with a local rescue group and the Humane Society to give thousands of pets a chance to find a loving home.
  • Fostering an excellent culture dedicated to teamwork. Our entire staff has each other’s backs and takes care of one another, making a welcoming environment where people are happy to come to work and stay here for years.
  • Remaining family-oriented and understanding that our team deserves time away from work. We provide flexible scheduling to accommodate appointments, children’s events, vacation, and well-earned time off.
  • Promoting autism awareness and supporting those with special needs. (Check out our logo, the puzzle pieces are a recognized symbol of autism awareness!)

Your growth:

We’re searching for a general practitioner who has 3+ years of clinical experience. Aside from supporting your professional growth and providing opportunities to collaborate with our doctors, we also encourage lifelong learning through:

  • Guidance from a talented Medical Advisory Board
  • Structured mentorship program (for early career doctors or those interested in serving as a mentor)
  • Dentistry training courtesy of a board-certified dental specialist

Scheduling needs:

This is a full-time or part-time role, and we will work with you to establish a schedule that makes sense for your work/life balance. Currently, we are open Monday – Saturday, and would happily welcome a doctor who is open to half-day Saturday coverage (9am-3pm). We typically have 2-3 doctor days and are walk-in-based, except for scheduled surgery, boarding, and some diagnostics. Our doctors take patients from 8am-noon and 2-6pm on weekdays, with our last walk-ins taken at 11:30am and 5:30 pm. We’re happy to accommodate NO on-call or afterhour emergency responsibilities in this role.

Benefits package (full-time candidates):

  • Competitive base + quarterly production (with no negative accrual)
  • Exciting bonus program / relocation assistance
  • Medical, dental, and vision for you and your dependents (with HSA option)
  • 401(k) options
  • Paid time off
  • Generous annual CE allowance
  • Parental leave / bonding time
  • Professional development assistance
  • Personal pet discounts
  • Paid license renewal fees / membership dues
  • AVMA PLIT coverage
  • Charity donation / sponsorship to a cause you care about
  • Investment in your hobbies (gym membership, ski pass, National Park pass, etc.)
  • Plus much more!

Get to know us:

Stateline Animal Clinic was never on Stateline Road, but it was on the Mississippi/Tennessee border in its past life. Founded more than 45 years ago, our clinic is now conveniently located off of Guthrie Drive, about 15 miles from downtown Memphis, TN. The focus of our practice is canine and feline medicine, however, we’ll also see pocket pets on occasion. Our clinic is walk-in based, and our 3-doctors’ caseload is predominantly composed of spays/neuters, and a fair amount of enucleations, laparotomies, and dentistry. The Stateline mission is to customize treatments while accommodating individual needs and providing high-quality care, and we do so by creating a fantastic environment where our staff is valued and truly love what they do.

If you’re an empathetic and collaborative doctor looking to join an incredible team, apply today!

Southaven is Mississippi’s third largest city, located in northwest corner of the state, just south of Memphis, Tennessee, and the Arkansas border. If you’re a fan of antiques, one of the best things to do here is visit the Abandoned Treasures Warehouse, and for those who prefer less vintage ware, the Tanger Outlets are great for a shopping binge. Southaven is a wonderful place for families, with countless activities geared toward children and adult nightlife a short drive away in the Birthplace of Rock ‘n Roll. It’s a bustling suburb that is rapidly growing with new restaurants, shops, and small businesses calling it home.
