Business Development Associate

Western Veterinary Partners (WVP) is a private equity-backed company that acquires, invests in, and supports veterinary practices and animal hospitals throughout the Western United States. WVP is a highly acquisitive company focused on continued growth and expansion across the country. Post-acquisition, WVP supports its partner practices with the non-clinical side of the business by providing industry proven non-clinical business support services.

We are seeking a Business Development Associate who will play a critical role in the top end of our acquisitions funnel, generating leads and generating interest with prospective candidates about who WVP is and how we’re different. The candidate will join a highly collaborative and motivated team in a high growth environment with substantial opportunity to create value for all involved. Qualified candidates should demonstrate a strong desire and passion for sales and business development, a great goal-oriented attitude, and marketing experience.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify, qualify and pursue potential target partners based on WVP acquisition criteria
  • Generate leads for the company primarily through cold calling efforts, email/text outreach, mailers, and some in-person opportunities
  • Outbound prospect qualification and account research
  • Conduct market research to identify potential new business opportunities and competitor activity
  • Qualification shall include working with small business owners to make a determination if they are a fit within the WVP organization as a potential acquisition target
  • Manage and maintain prospect database ensuring accuracy and integrity
  • Work closely with business development team to generate and identify new leads
  • Track and manage leads using CRM software
  • Assist in additional administrative tasks as needed
  • Be a team player in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment
  • Travel to occasional industry tradeshows throughout our geographic focus
  • This will be a hybrid role and involve both in-office and remote work

Requirements:

  • Experience cold and warm calling small business owners
  • Proficiency in CRM software
  • Experience in an inside sales role, or strong desire to move into sales
  • Prior experience within veterinary, dental, or dermatology organizations is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and orally, is required
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills are a MUST
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Results-oriented, strategic thinker and planner
  • Comfortable in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and growth-oriented environment

Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. The hourly salary range for this role is $22.00 - $24.00 hourly, with uncapped monthly bonus potential. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The Company offers competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision benefits, vacation, sick leave, 401(k), and more depending on location.
